Making Milk Carton Gingerbread Houses - A Book Inspired Activity

Gingerbread Houses from Milk Cartons

Supplies Needed:

  • milk/juice cartons
  • brown paint
  • pompoms
  • paint brushes
  • glue

Additional Supplies:

  • cotton balls
  • ribbon
  • construction paper
  • craft foam pieces
  • puffy stars and flowers
  • sequins
  • craft gems and jewels
  • scissors
  • aluminum foil

Pre-craft prep: Wash and dry your milk, or juice cartons. You can start by prepping your table with a sheet, if needed, and gather your carton, paint, and brushes.  Let your little ones paint their sugar free gingerbread houses, to their heart's content. This was so much fun, and was almost as great as decorating the real thing! So simple, even our preschooler was able to join in.  Once the paint is completely dry you can start to decorate! You can glue on your pompoms, and any other decor you have selected. This craft can be done very simply with paint, and pompoms, or more elaborately with all sorts of things, it is up to you and what you have on hand. Paint and Pompoms are a perfect way to make this craft in no time, and it is very easy for little kids.  Allow your carton to dry on its own paper plate, so you can store it on the counter while you clean up the craft table. This was so much fun, and we know your kids will love making their own Gingerbread Houses from Milk Cartons, this holiday season.   Til next time,Breathe deeply and enjoy building your masterpiece with scissors and glue and gingerbread houses too!~Alexandra
