Banana Yogurt Smoothie Recipe
Calling all parents with picky eaters! Banana Yogurt Smoothie Recipe to the rescue! Plus the results from my kids trying it are coming right up! So, why I am sharing this recipe today? So, of my Instagram followers had commented on my last smoothie recipe, and said that she struggles with picky eaters, and it got me thinking, because MY middle son is terribly picky and he won't mind me saying it, however, I have started to ignore this now, and refuse to let him be so picky. So because of this, and other parents who struggle with picky eaters, I want to share with you the smoothie recipe that got 2-out-of-3 thumbs up from my 3 kids.
Let's Make these Delicious Banana Yogurt Smoothies!
So to start off, I froze my bananas when they were just right. What's this magical Goldilocks zone for bananas you ask? Well, I snapped a shot of what they looked like, so you could examine it if you'd like. Some spots, not many. The banana will be soft, sweet and not mushy at all. Just right ?Having this ready to go, was really handy and I knew he didn't want much more added into the smoothie. (I did sneak a few greens in) Now for the recipe:
Banana Yogurt Smoothie Recipe
- 1 fresh and ripe banana (not too ripe!)
- 1 frozen banana (I used 3 frozen chunks)
- 1 heaping TBSP of Vanilla Yogurt
- 1 cup of milk, your choice of milk is fine
- 1 tsp of Hemp Protein Smoothie with Greens
- Optional: if you have some ice, by all means, throw some in, as well as some honey ? to add a little more sweetness.
So once you have what you need, add your fresh and frozen bananas, and your vanilla yogurt, and honey ? if you have it. (I didn't add it in, but my daughter suggested maybe next time I should.)Then add your milk and ice if you have any on hand, and your small teaspoon or a pinch of hemp protein smoothie with greens, and whiz up to smoothie perfection. And Tada! You have a yummy banana yogurt smoothie with hidden greens for your kids to enjoy with their breakfast.A little addition, I cut a straw into two small pieces to fit nicely in our little cups, that made it just a little bit more interesting, and I think encouraged them to try it.We got a thumbs up from my youngest who really is not too picky, and he was watching his paw patrol at the time so he was also preoccupied. He drank it all.My daughter who doesn't like smoothies, she tried it but didn't find it appealing. I had figured as much. Later she suggested that if I had added more sugar in it she would have liked it better. Ok, so I didn't add any extra sweetness, maybe some honey? So that was helpful. And the biggest test of all in-fact was my middle son who just simply looks at things and says no. He did try it and he did like it! He drank quite a few sips but didn't finish it. (Maybe if I had added a bit more sweetness like the honey....) But, this was a huge improvement! As you can see he was happy with the taste. This is his, 'I'm thinking about telling you, I like it' face. And this out of focus picture is his full body reaction to saying "Yessssssss I like it!"So there you go guys, I hope you enjoyed this one. My kids did (2 out of 3 anyway). Please comment below if you do try this one out.Till next time,Breathe deeply and enjoy building your masterpiece with scissors and glue,~Alexandra
