Method for making your own Homemade Dog Biscuits with your Kids:
- Preheat your oven to 350F.
- Prepare a lined baking sheet with either parchment paper, or an ovenproof liner (we love this one).
- In a large bowl, add your pumpkin, peanut butter, eggs, and oil, and mix until smooth.
- Add in your flour and soda, and stir gradually until a stiff dough forms.
- Knead the dough with your hands until all the flour is completely combined.
- On a floured surface, roll out your dough with your rolling pin, until about 1/2 inch to 1-inch thickness.
- With your desired cookie cutter shapes, (bone, dog house, circle, etc) create your dog biscuits, and set ontop your prepared baking sheet.
- For small treats, Bake in the oven for 10-13 minutes, and flip at about 9 minutes, and continue to cook for about 4 minutes. this helps harden both sides of the treat. For Larger cookies, bake for 14-20 minutes, flipping around 14 minutes.
- While your dog biscuits are baking, in a small microwave proof bowl, warm up your coconut oil, or bacon grease until it is nice and fluid.
- In another bowl, measure out your 1/4 cup of smooth peanut butter.
- Whisk together your oil and peanut butter until very smooth.
- Once your dog biscuits have baked, and cooled, drizzle over top of them and allow to cool until the glaze hardens. (The fridge or freezer does the best job for this)
- Once your glaze has hardened, you are ready to package up your treats to give to your dog or your friends, family or neighbors who have dogs! These yummy treats are perfect to give as Christmas gifts, or just because! Enjoy!
