Mixing up a batch of glitter glue slime

We love making slime in our home and have made it so many times, even my 4-year-old knows how to make it practically by himself and by heart. Check out how he mixes up a batch of glitter glue slime, all from scratch!

The conversation you know is inevitable at least once per month:

kid: "Can we make one little batch of slime?"

Mom: "But it's 10 pm!"

Kid: "Please?!?

Kid: Shows that intense puppy dog face they just learned how to give you from watching monster high with their big sister.

Mom: "Ahhh, Ok fine. Let's do it!"

What you need to make this awesome fun glitter slime (even at 10 pm)

Glitter
Clear glue 1 1/2 bottles
4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp - 2 tsp of contact solution (BAUSCH + LOMB sensitive eyes)
Spoon
Container or bowl to mix in

*I wanted to mention that if you would prefer not to use real glitter because we all know how messy that stuff can be, go for the Elmer's Glitter Glue, it works just the same as this recipe, and the results are even better. But, if you are out of glitter glue, you can use this recipe to make your own.

Method:

Add your glue into your container, then mix in your glitter of choice. We chose red.My little guy (4 1/2) really wanted to do every step of this process himself, because he now knows this recipe so well, because we make it a lot, after many, many times of making slime, we finally got it down.And of course, he wanted to add a bit more glitter and glue to the container.Once you have your desired mix, you will want to add in your baking soda. For one glue bottle, you need 3 tsp so we put in 4 because we used about 1 1/2 bottles of glue. By this point, you just need to go by feel.The rule of thumb is to add more baking soda and less eye solution. We love BAUSCH + LOMB sensitive eyes, it is kid friendly, borax-free, and works every time!Now we are ready for the contact solution! He could not wait to do this on his own as well.It was coming together really nicely, and he let me mix it up completely because it was still a bit too sticky for him to handle at this point but it comes together quickly.He was thrilled to see his slime all ready for him to play with, and it was a nice time for him!Side note, if you make this, please be advised you should store it in a ziplock bag, and be cautious about what table top you leave this on for too long, as we learned the hard way, he left it on his dresser, overnight, not in a bag... I thought that would be better than the floor... but, it actually left a bit of a red stain, from the glitter I guess. Learn from our mistake, when adding your own glitter!
