COLORmeMozart Piano Lessons Have Been A Success for Our Kids!
We recently found COLORmeMozart and their wonderful piano lesson book, and my kids are now waking up and playing the piano, simply, easily and with joy.
Do your kids struggle with daily piano practice?
We have done piano lessons in the past, and it was always a struggle to have them 'practice' each week, and this last year we didn't go for piano lessons because of the interest just wasn't there.Since hearing about COLORmeMozart, I was thinking I should give this a try because the concept seemed really simple and fun. Now that we have tried it out, we were given a digital copy to review, and mr7 saw the lessons, saw I was making our own stickers to go on the keys of the piano and he was immediately drawn to the piano and wanted to learn. I was truly shocked and amazed.
Within the hour he had gone through the entire book, lesson by lesson and had me tape up all the important things to remember (about each note) and he laid out all of the songs for him to easily see and play.You can see on our Instagram account @alexandra.derry where I share more video clips, in our feed and in our stories about the first few days with the book. Since then, mr7 and miss8 have been waking up and going straight to the piano to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or the newest song we downloaded, Baby Shark.
Meet the Creator of COLORmeMozart
Created by Adrain Edward, a piano teacher who was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and grew up in New York who fell in love with music when he was 14 years old. He has made it his life's passion ever since.
Through his education in music and music career as teacher and therapist at the Guild for Exceptional Children in Brooklyn, New York, Adrian discovered the need for an easy and effective music learning system for younger children. He soon realized that taking the two things that children learn easily - color and shapes- would create a powerful way to teach children the language of music, in their developing years.
And powerful they are!
This system of basic colors and shapes has inspired mr7 immediately, and he has taken to this like a magnet! I never knew how much he loved music, until today.
He is now starting to write his own songs, with the shapes and notes he has just learned, as he tells me which note to write down next. I am excited to see where this takes us, and we are looking forward to the release of book 2!
