I'm Not Just A Scribble Book Review + IG Giveaway!
Today is National Scribble Day and we are reading I'm Not Just A Scribble while creating our own unique #scribblestickerart! We are also teaming up with Author Diane Alber to bring you an IG Giveaway! We love reading "I'm Not Just A Scribble..." in our homeschool, because it encourages creativity, kindness and having fun together.
"Great art starts with just a Scribble."
Do your kids scribble?
Scribbling is the first stage of the creation process, and encouraging young children to continue to create and use their imagination will set them on the right path!
Meet Scribble, his lines cross and wiggle.
He loves changing his colors and is more than just a simple scribble. Your kids will enjoy following his adventure as he learns to love himself the way he is and teach what it means to be kind, to some black and white drawings, who aren't quite sure what to expect of him.Scribble changes his colors and size often and bright colors make him feel free! This was one of our favorite pages because it really inspired us with our own scribble art!On a walk, he meets a house, the sun, and some clouds, who aren't sure they want to play with him because he is just so different.Once he stands up for himself, they soon realize they want to be kind, and they all come to play because they are curious to see what will happen when playing with a scribble!Like always, Scribble worked his creative magic with blue, purple, green and yellow to create a beautiful masterpiece with all the pages that just needed a bit of color.
"So beautiful! This book is awesome! Wonderful for kids!"- Mr.5, Mr.7 and Miss.8

Creating Our Own #ScribbleStickerArt
While we read this book, our kids became filled with ideas to create their own adorable and unique scribbles! We soon had enough to fill a wall with them.We used the fun stickers that came with the book, which add in those adorable eyes, and mouth for endless fun and constant character creation.Mr.5 was happy to give it a try and wanted to scribble with both hands!I just love his dual color scribble, and he added arms and legs that were scribbles too.Mr. 7 was loving this project as well and created his own scribbles in many colors and even a scribble universe. Our wall has now become a beautiful Scribble Sticker Art Gallery, that is continuing to grow by the minute.

Meet the Author & Illustrator
Diane Alber was born in Chandler, Arizona and has always had a passion for art ever since she held her first crayon at the age of two, and she hasn't looked back! She has continued to be inspired in the arts and studied Fine Arts graduating with a Bachelor's Degree from Arizona State University. Now Diane is married and has two energetic creative children of her own, who love to scribble.
"I wrote and illustrated this book to inspire creativity in children, beginning with their very first scribble!" -Diane Alber
Diane wishes this book will encourage parents to be proud of their children's artwork no matter what it looks like because this early developmental skill promotes creativity and learning. As a homeschooling parent of three creative scribblers of my own, I can say that this book has helped me look at their scribbles with a more artistic light, even though I already love everything they touch. Diane wants the young artist and writer to know that 'you can make your dreams a reality!'
