We Made Halloween Rice Krispy Treats
Mixing up some Halloween treats today!
My littlest one wanted to help the most and we counted by tens up to 40 marshmallows and he stirred it all up!Then he helped put in the Rice Krispies and had a little taste along the way.I love how the melted marshmallows make little webs at this point in the mixing process. We scooped out large spoonfuls of Rice Krispies into the tins with a buttered spoon and buttered finger spatula (that I just love! I found this one at winners).Logan, my 3 year old was so happy to help and after watching me fill up a few cups and he helped with the spatula, he took over with both spoon and spatula and finished it all up.He wanted to pat them down nice and perfect.Instead of putting them in the pan, like I usually do, we used the muffin tin that I sprayed with vegetable oil cooking spray and they set so much faster and then I had the kids decorate them! They were so eager to come and do this activity, and it went really well.I melted some milk chocolate chips and white choclate chips for them to drizzle and spread ontop. I also put some mini chocolate chips and mini Reese's pieces for them to decorate with. These items I had already in my pantry, and honestly this activity was totally spur of the moment, I had not planned it at all. (Which is a nice thing to do! I usually have things really planned out but this one was not).Decorating was a ? relaxing and fun time for us this morning. And of course we needed some milk to drink while we decorated our sweet and yummy treats, because of course we had to eat some too. Here are our final beauties!
Yummy Rice Krispies for Halloween ?
- 2 TBSP butter
- 40 large marshmallows
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 4-5 cups of Rice Krispies
Melt butter on medium heat in a large pot, and add marshmallows and stir. Once the marshmallows have mostly melted you can add in the vanilla and turn down the heat.Add in 4- 5 cups of Rice Krispies one cup at a time and stir until you have reached your desired consistency. With a large spoon, drop into muffin tin cups and pat down if desired.Allow to cool and easily lift out one by one onto parchment paper ready for easy decorating and clean up!Have fun and enjoy !I hope you enjoyed this!
