Field Trips to Beaver Creek
Beaver Creek Conservation Area is about 15 minutes North of Saskatoon, and it's an easy drive to make. It is so beautiful and lovely to hike. The kids enjoy the different hiking trails that are there and every time they hike the trails, they have the option of seeing something new! The first time they saw a beaver swimming in the creek and its beaver dam. As well as a tree stump that was chewed down by a beaver.Walking the trails, and sitting to rest at the viewpoints, looking out over the prairies is an enjoyable and rewarding feeling. Seeing this view was able to bring up lots of discussions about the creek, trees and the animals that live there. The kids also love looking for beautiful wildflowers along the path, as they know mommy loves these kinds of things, especially when they go on a hike with just daddy. The trails are fun and provide us all with some good physical exercise outdoors, and when we are tired from all the hiking we can stop in at the Visitors Center!
Inside Beaver Creeks Visitors Center
Not only are there beautiful trails and gorgeous prairie views, but there is a very fun educational visitors Center that has some pretty cool ? sections that our kids love to check out and play in, before and after the hikes.
The Puppet Show Corner
There is a fun puppet show corner with puppets of all the animal that you can possibly spot out on the bikes and on the prairies. The kids love playing and putting on puppet shows for us.
The Beaver Dam Hide Out
This hideout is so cool, it really lets the see up close what it's like inside a beavers dam with the mud and sticks.
The Funny Animal Face Cutouts
And yes, they have these fun and very colorful animal face cutouts for you to enjoy taking photos of your kids in. After learning about all those animals, and possibly seeing them while you are out on the trails, it's a nice touch to have your picture taken as one of them!
