Thick + Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
Do your kids like having tea time, or milk + Cookies in teacups, with their poetry reading, or story time? Mine love it and it is a new combination of 'good things' we are trying to do on a regular basis. Here is the recipe that wins my kid's hearts, every time!
Thick + Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies ?Recipe
Ingredients Needed:
- 2 1/2 cups of flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup room temperature butter
- 1 tsp salt (if using unsalted butter)
- 1 cup of packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp pure Vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (this recipe is also awesome without the chocolate chips if you like simple vanilla cookies like my daughter)
Method for making your Thick + Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies:
Preheat oven to 350F. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown just along the bottom edges. I like to bake it for 11 minutes. Do not over bake. They will come out looking underdone.Cream the butter with the sugar, eggs, and vanilla, slowly adding each ingredient. Mix until light and fluffy. Beat in the flour and baking soda.Stir in the desired amount of chocolate chips, with a spoon and have a child come to taste!Roll the cookie dough into balls using the 1 tbsp to measure. When they come out of the oven they look puffy at the top but after a few seconds, they do fall slightly and begin to crack and cook a bit more on the hot sheet.
