Now you can place spoon size balls of dough onto a lined cookie sheet, and bake.

Bake your Rainbow Drop Cake-Cookies in a preheated oven at 350F for 13 minutes.

Because the batter is thick like cake, it does require the 13 minutes to completely bake and will have a slight browning on the edges and bottom. Allow to rest on the cookie sheet a few minutes once out of the oven, and cool for another few minutes on the rack, before storing away.Rainbow Drop Cake-Cookies ~ A Book Inspired Recipe

These Rainbow Drop Cake-Cookies were very popular, and loved by our kids!

They did not last long in our cookie jar, and that was a sure sign they were great!Rainbow Drop Cake-Cookies ~ A Book Inspired Recipe

So, Mack ate the cake. But that's not the whole story!

This book is a fun twist on 'The house that Jack Built', and shows children where some of the ingredients you need to bake a cake come from. And that cake is ultimately eaten by Mack.We see the hen that laid the egg, the corn that fed the hen, and the seed that grows the corn. My children love stories like this! The journey continues all the way to the farmer's wife who loves to bake birthday cakes! And when the candles make an entrance, we see that Mack has spotted the cake and his chance for a taste! As you can imagine, a mess ensues, and poor Mack ends up in the doghouse, to think about his choices.
